WILLIAM "SCOTT" McNAUGHTON January 17, 1969 - March 29, 2001 After a courageous battle to stay with us all, Scott passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2001, at 4:55 p.m., at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, with his family at his side. Left to cherish Scotts memory are his Mom and Dad, Muriel and Barry, of Oakvillle, MB.; sister and guardian angel, Kim Sheppard and husband Chad; and special nephew and namesake, Taylor Scott of Winnipeg. Surviving also are many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of special friends, both near and far. Scott was predeceased by his grandparents, uncles and cousins. Scott was born in Thompson, MB, and at a young age moved with his family to Winnipeg and later to Oakville, MB. He attended elementary school in Oakville, going on to complete high-school at Arthur Meighen in Portage la Prairie and graduating from the University of Manitoba in 1992, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Scott had a love for horses and could be seen from a young age working beside his Dad at the local harness races. He went on to be a Charter of race results and representative for the Canadian Trotting Association (Now Standard Bred Canada). He pursued various marketing opportunities with Mind Computers, Zeneca Seeds, Brown Communications, and most recently with United Grain Growers. He volunteered his services to the Lions Club, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Canadian Agri-Marketing Association as President. He was a generous and creative person who had a zest for life, good food, shopping, computers, music, photography and travel. Our family is grateful for the kindness and care given to Scott by Dr. Kepron, the Transplant and Cystic Fibrosis teams, staff of the Surgical I.C.U., GH6, and his "special nurse" and friend, Ann Szabo. We sincerely appreciate the many friends and family who have shared with us their experiences and memories of Scott. Many thanks also, to the Oakville "Money for Miracles" Fund , that helped give him a second chance at life. Interment of ashes will take place at the Miami Cemetery, Miami, MB, on Tuesday, April 3 at 10:30 a.m. A "Celebration of Life" will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Knox United Church in Oakville, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Scotts memory to "Money for Miracles", Box 1000, Oakville, MB R0H 0Y0 or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Winnipeg Chapter, Box 21008, 33 - 3900 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3R 3R2. Arrangements entrusted to Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden, MB. 822-4755. Each morning you are handed 24 golden hours. They are among the few things in this world that you get free of charge. If you had all the money in the world, you couldnt buy an extra hour. What will you do with this priceless treasure? Remember, you must use it, as it is given only once. Once wasted you cannot get it back "LIVE WITH YOUR HEART"
